Gaming Trends: The Rise Of Cross Platform Titles
The gaming industry is constantly expanding and while current generation consoles are slowly dying, next generation machines are rapidly emerging, gaining gamers interests along the way. Of the current generation console systems,, game review, the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Gamecube have all captured a share of the gaming market. The Xbox 360 will face some heated competition when Sony releases its successor to the PS2 and Nintendo revolutionizes gaming with its Wii. When we add the P.C. into the, game review, equation, gamers will ultimately have the option of 4 gaming platforms in which to play their favorite titles.
Having identified this, developers are increasingly creating titles for more than one system. This recent trend has sparked criticisms among the gaming community. Concerns over the quality of multi-platform games have placed a great amount of pressure on developers to create titles for a specific machine. Largely associated with cross-platform titles is a lack, game review, of perceived quality due to developers focusing on multiple systems rather than, game review, one. Of course each system is different to the next.
One system, game review, may contain greater processing power, while another greater graphic capabilities. So who's to blame for the creation of multi-platform games? Most people point their fingers straight at the big gun companies such as Sony or Microsoft. It is a common misconception that creators of the gaming systems, game review, themselves wish to publish cross-platform games. After all, Microsoft would prefer to keep games exclusively bound to their machines, game review, and vice versa.
It is in fact the third, game review, party developers who choose to create, game review, multi-platform titles. While gamers will continue to complain, it seems only wise from an economical perspective to capitalize on a game through multiple systems.Unfortunately the result of this is that developers in most cases compromise quality for quantity. In many situations, developers will focus on creating a game for one machine and then port it over to other systems. However a cross-platform path isn't necessarily all bad and when approached with a different perspective can be a positive move.
After all, you must consider the fact that, game review, not each gamer will own every, game review, machine, game review, . It can potentially become very expensive, game review, to own each platform and at the same time afford to purchase, game review, games. This way, gamers can still purchase their favorite game for a chosen platform without having to worry about availability. The future of gaming is clearly heading along the path of multi-platform titles. However expect exclusive titles to remain in production.
Sony and Microsoft for instance, offer up large 'sums of cash' to their larger developers to exclusively develop for their machines. While on the other hand, many developers still choose to create for one system, hoping to achieve a high quality game, winning over gamers alike. To add to this, many recent multi-platform developments have proven successful. Take for example Resident Evil 4, a survival horror developed by Capcom. This game was released to the Gamecube, game review, in January of 2005 and greeted with rave reviews.
Approximately 8 months later the same title was released again, however this time to the PS2. In similar fashion,, game review, the game was highly reviewed by gaming audience worldwide. There was very little difference between the two releases. Both featured the same game and story, while additional features were added to the PS2's version, game review, of the title. The PS2 version was in fact a port from the Gamecube version. However unlike many multi-platform developments, developers Capcom placed a great deal of emphasis on transitioning the game from one system, game review, to the next and the results - an almost prefect game.
Unfortunately this is a route that many, game review, developers choose to bypass when developing cross-platform titles. It is wrong in any case to assume that all such developments are inferior. Quality cross-platform games do exist, however they are difficult to find. The world of gaming is constantly evolving and as changes take place new trends, either good or bad will emerge. We need to remember that developers will only create games that capture the interest of gamers. The bottom line is that developers will only continue to create low quality cross-platform titles if gamers support them.

Fight Night Round 4 Review
When I first ordered Fight Night Round 4 from my online rental account I was pretty excited to give it a try. First let me tell you that I love fighting games, UFC Unleashed was probably my favorite fighting game so far this year. However, after reading Fight Night's reviews I figured it had a good chance of pulling off the upset of my favorite fighting game. The game finally arrived at my house and I immediately put it into my xbox. My first reactions was that this game had some amazing graphics and the story telling of my young fighter began quickly with an introduction sequence on how to use the controls.
The amount of variations in punches, ducks, and blocks are, game review, huge. There is a different control for almost everything within the game., game review, At first this, game review, can seem like a scary situation for someone like me who has never played any of the Fight Night games.
After trying to feel my way around the controls I created a boxer in legacy mode. The game starts out with an amateur tournament and even with my lack of skills I was able to win all of my fights by knockout.
At, game review, that point I felt pretty good about the game, and that I would be able to get the hand of the game easily and enjoy my legacy career. In the legacy mode you are able to train your fighter typically once before every major fight. I found that the little training games they put you through to be very hard and that I was not actually help train my character. However, Fight Night has, game review, created an auto train setting for people like me who do not want to learn the proper training.
I continued on my legacy path and was able to beat, game review, most opponents until I reached ranking 20. At that point the game, game review, became difficult for someone like, game review, me who does not want to learn the specifics of ducking and weaving. I just want to get in there and throw hay makers and try to KO my opponent. However, the game is created such that you can not win after a certain point with punching alone. This part of the game frustrates me and really creates the bad review,, game review, game review, in my mind.
Like I said I don't want to dedicate to, game review, much time learning about ducking and weaving,, game review, I just want to punch someone. Therefore in my mind the game fell short of, game review, my expectations. However, if you are into that sort of thing this game is realistic and amazing. The graphics are superb and the game play is so realistic it makes amateurs like me not want to play it. So go pick up a copy and give it a try.

Xbox 360 Game Review - Resident Evil 5
Love or hate, the only thing that you can not blame the series of Resident Evil for a lack of willingness to experiment and develop over time. After a couple of sequels rather dry, the announcement of RE4 is that the game has no properties 'true' zombie fan made a lot of long term rather annoying. Despite all odds, the game became very close to being a great example of modern survival horror, which provides not play on Wii or PC. Resident Evil 5 is in Africa, something of a unique place with regard to the undead.
You play as Chris Redfield pursuing a bioterrorist threat on the continent, not surprisingly, turns people into various types of undead. The plot itself is very interesting, especially if you're a fan of the series. If you have never played a Resident Evil, game review, game before you can even follow it all with relative ease, although there are a couple of things, game review, that can go over your head. The fifth game in the series (if you want to, game review, go to the traditional numbering at least - is actually more like the ninth) is not much of an outlet of the fourth, but still a bit 'new mechanics thrown in.
It also includes the less' zombie 'bad yet. There is still a degree of uncertainty dead, but there are many more enemies that are faster and more dynamic in their movements and attacks before. The most important change is that you have, game review, a friend for a ride in the form of artificial intelligence controlled Sheva Alomar, a young African woman who fights with you for most of the game. If the idea of an AI-controlled partner scares you, Sheva can be controlled from a friend in cooperative play very, game review, sleek-op mode - a welcome addition in a genre that has really taken a variety of multiplayer modes.
Resident Evil 5 is a mixture of puzzles, adventure and action elements, but is generally more concentrated on the latter. If you have never played a Resident Evil game before the,, game review, game review, fifth falls somewhere between a game out of all the parties and a more ominous darkness to play Deadspace how. If you are looking for a, game review, game that focuses exclusively, game review, on the horror atmosphere and pace, you might want to look elsewhere. For everyone else, though,, game review, RE5 is competent, if not low last-minute addition to the, game review, genre.
The biggest disappointment is the game AI, which is to be responsible for almost unbelievably boring. His friend checked in has a tendency to pointlessly shooting almost everything that moves, wasting an incredible amount of ammunition in a game that already has limited ammunition. It also has the tendency to heal at the worst moment, game review, possible, the waste of precious resources. Helps inventory management and control of the game options are very limited in scope. RE5 can not be the pinnacle of the series, but it is another step in testing the next generation of consoles.
Not for everyone - puzzles and inventory items that used to frustrate action games straight, game review, . However, it's very, game review, appreciated by fans of the series, while strong enough to recommend to newcomers, especially those, game review, that can play through Xbox Live instead of the companion bird flu.

Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood Video Game Review - Part II
For the few of us who actually played the first installment of this game, "Call of Juarez" can actually do something different with the FPS (First Person Shooter) genre allows the player to play the game of two different characters. In the first call "of Juarez" is not given the opportunity to choose between the characters. As you play through the missions, the game shifts to who you want to be automatically put in the role of Billy Candle unjustly accused, who are fleeing their main character, the Reverend Ray McCall, who just so happens to be one of the two get to choose the new "Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood".
It 'been a very interesting way of playing that video games are nothing had completely finished before - is the protagonist and the antagonist at the same time. A difficult, game review, task, and still not completely pulled-off by the success so far. In "Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood" will have the opportunity to play this time between two different, game review, characters, who are brothers in the game. Reverend Ray McCall, made a return in this game, but being a prequel and in accordance, game review, with the original story, Ray is still not a reverend.
Without giving away any spoilers, you will discover that it becomes a man, game review, of the cloth by the, game review, end of this game, as if in original. Thomas McCall is a new character, Brother Ray and all game will be given, game review, the opportunity to use or Ray Thomas before each mission. You will find that their grades will have an advantage over the other may, depending on the situation at hand: Thomas is a good distance, game review, shooter, is faster and more agile than his, game review, brother Ray, who did more harm than Ray, but more precisely, when clicked, handles of knives and a bow and arrows with deadly accuracy, a whip to climb, and can have only one weapon at a time, while Ray is stronger and has less damage, it can handle two guns (a pistol in hand and a pistol in one hand and dynamite in the other), is slower and needs help climbing, and attacks at close range is where Ray is the worst, taking an enemy after enemy with a shot each.
Mode "concentration" is worth a certain prestige. I prefer to use Ray for that. When your "concentration mode" meter, game review, fills up and press Circle, slows the, game review, time for you to insert up to twelve grids for most of the visible enemies for you to shoot, and once all the targets are placed just sit and look like Ray automatically, game review, fires his gun, a crowd of men to rest in a single instance. The only difference in the use of Thomas is that you pull the lever R3 (on PS3) and automatically targets the enemy, all you have to do is pull the trigger quick shot '.
The story has many twists were thrown in: his characters Two soldiers AWOL accomplice to be ousted from his army ex-general to desert the war to save his family, joining forces with a group of Mexicans,, game review, with a girl becomes the love interest has requested a total of two of your characters, causing discord and jealousy between brothers, the next minute you are fighting with the Indians, a few minutes later your thinking brother is trying to preach to you about 's love of, game review, the Lord, game review, .
begins to be a bit 'crazy when they turn implies Mexican friends crazy criminals who turn against you, all the time that this interest "love" plays both characters hook line and sinker. These, game review, are just some of the factors that build the story. Category If you're an avid player who, game, game review, review, plays and wins, at least one match per month you will notice, not long after entering the game's story is very low compared to the game. Indeed, nothing prevents the gameplay more than the thrust that developers need to cut all these scenes and sequences shown in the face.
Yes, I know it gives me the chance to, game review, press the Start button,, game review, but I'm the guy sitting across from each slice of a unique setting, game review, for each game. I do it mainly to see how developers to show their, game review, skills in animation, only in this half-game cut scenes are shown in 2-D and the others are playing games graphics standard. If you're used to FPS, then you will find in "Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood" fairly easy to learn, game review, and play, and if you are very demanding in the types of games you play, this game is good, try to keep out poor "Batman: Arkham Asylum" or "Bioshock 2" leaves.

Xbox 360 Game Review - Star Wars - The Force Unleashed
Star Wars games have made countless appearances on home consoles and arcades in the last thirty years. Were of variable quality, surprising the Rebel Assault 2 and Jedi Knight games more terrible board,, game review, game review, based off the new license. It triggers, game review, a unexploded munitions or is really worth buying? First things first. Unleashed is really nice if you're just, game review, a fan of Star Wars. Unlike, game review, previous, game review, original Xbox games as the Knights of old Republic games and battlefields that have been helpful for their, game review, rights, Unleashed really only work as a Star Wars game designed for fans of Star Wars.
You can not really fault the game for this, but worthy of note. Fan service involves more than throwing in Vader and some Force powers though. The history of the game is available in a full, game review, novel, game review, read size more than adequate for the quality of the plot. The game fills some important gaps between the end of the original trilogy and Episode I. There are two good things - first, there is a great mix of old and new characters, because of the configuration. More importantly, the game is Canon.
Not only a plot invented by a Game Studio - which has the stamp of approval from George Lucas. This fact alone should be sufficient for most Star Wars fans to go out and buy the game now. For the rest of us, there are some things to do before considering a buy-out, and not all are so good. Unleashed follows a successful formula. Combining the powers of the Force, with a plot that focuses on their use, wherever possible, rather than something reserved for special occasions. For the first few hours, collecting the hapless stormtroopers and throw away some bridges and boreholes is good, clean fun.
However, it is aging faster than they should because of lack of imagination on behalf of the level design. Soon you will use only your confidence lightsaber because it is faster and easier, though not so beautiful. Not all levels are bad, as expected, and based on scenes familiar to fans are the most fun.
