Mark Buehrle has given us another great moment. His no-hitter against the Texas Rangers two years ago has got us cheering. Now its going to start all over again. On the Tuesday game with the Chicago White Sox playing the Tampa Bay Rays, leftie Mark Buehrle has left Chicago in absolute joy.
In his second no-hitter, the timing could not be better as this win boosted the White Sox head to head with the Detroit Tigers for first in the Central Division. Accoring to MLB.com, his no-hitter on June 21, 2009 has earned him the title as the "25th big league hurler to hold his opponent hitless twice in games of nine innings or more." An amazing feat to be held to. As Buehrle struck out his 27th hitter, the crowd roared like no other.
Accoring to MLB.com, accomplishing "the rare and historic feat of 27 up and 27 down" earned him a spot in the Elite 18, an exalted group of MLB pitchers that have drove past this feat.
Not only did the Sox win, but they won by a a whole 5 points. The were ahead of the Rays in every way. Mark kept the Tampa Rays at bay (get it?). The most intense part of the whole game was when a hit was smashed toward center field and what was going to be a home run turned into an out. The man of the hour was Dewayne Wise. As he jumped to reach over the wall, the ball landed in his mitt and he fell only to stand up, holding the ball proudly.
May Mark bring his third soon.
