The Witcher Enhanced Review
Seriously, this is my favourite rpg to date. I will rate it higher than many rpg's I have tried lately even Oblivion. As a matter of fact me getting bored of oblivion slow-paced fights and disjointed story-line got me to try the Witcher Demo and I am hooked. This rpg does everything right for anyone looking for a fast-paced action rpg that doesn't bore you to death with way uneccessary depth. I know some people like deep and never-ending rpg's but I surely don't as I have lots of things going in my life and dont have hours at end to play games. I like a rpg that is fast-paced with a tightly knit storyline which makes you feel a major player in the game's universe. Witcher Enchanced does all of that and it didnt take me long to order the game once I was done playing the demo.
I wont go into a big review as people have already detailed the features of this game quite well. Though I will like to list some aspects of the game that hooked me. For one the game melee combat is the best action rpg combat that I have exprienced so far. Even though the fights are really fast-paced but they still makes you think about how to strategize your approach. Whether you will take a strong, agile or group stance or whether you need to bolster yourself with magical potions or majic etc. The game also offer special attacks (your learn via talents) or finishing moves which can either execute your opponent or turn the fight against you so you have to be judicious here too. Just going in swinging your sword will get you killed quite often. The game combat animations are quite well-done too and seem to reinforce the developer claims of motion-capture used in their creation.
The game story-line is quite mature, well-developed and your actions will shape the story line. I don't agree with the poster below that choosing different actions only result in cosmetic changes. I don't want to spoil the game but I have played some chapters twice and each time I choose either a 'bad guy' or a 'good guy' approach and subsequently, I got locked out of some quests-line altogether and how I approached the ending changed too. Anyways that being said the storyline will grip you from the word get-go and you will feel part of the shady politics and dark affairs of this game universe which seem to be going along all at once. And yep there is a aspect of Geralt (the main character) of bedding every pretty damsel he can get a chance at and saving a momento from them. Well as sexist as it may sound some of us have seen or even done similar escapdes in our real life, well, atleast in our college life hehe. Like it or not sex/lust is very much a part of our lives in the real world and the game tried to incorporate this aspect rather be PC about it. And btw most of these encounters do give you an option to 'not' engage in any questionable behaviour and walk-off too so its not like the game is forcing you into being a gigolo. Last but not least the graphics are also top-notch and the world seems alive with grass blowing in the wind in ever changing weather effects and npc's trying to live a life of their own amidst a day/night cycle. Also the game has a really engorssing soundtrack that is not only really nice to listen too but compliments the game dark and broody atmosphere really well.
Anyways I will highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fast-paced and immersive rpg which will give you many hours of gameplay. I am looking forward to upcoming Witcher 2 which is on my must-buy list...

The Witcher Enhanced Overview
Welcome to a world that knows no mercy - none is received, and none is given. Only physical and mental agility can keep you alive, though they are by no means a guarantor of life. Within its realm, you will have to assume the burden of choice. And this burden of choice, as light as it may appear, is the very thing that will both permit you to wield influence over the fate of the world, as well as get you slain prematurely.
Determine how Geralt's character develops and if he is to become a swordsman, an arcane battle mage, an alchemist in skirmishes, or any combination of the three 250 skills and abilities What you see is what you get system - in choosing a character skill, you either have it or you don't Character development is linked with storyline progression. Geralt comes to remember his forgotten past, and therefore his supernatural skills and abilities Numerous real-time combat strikes, hits, thrusts, slashes, and cuts plus the appropriate use of magic, potions and styles of swordplay The control system is for both experienced users and beginners.
